Sunset from the 72nd Floor

I stand in awe
and marvel at the sight
of the yellow-orange-crimson
ball of flame
painting Your majestic sky
in bluish-purplish-reddish hues
injecting the horizon
with colours I’m not ashamed to admit
I cannot name

I stand humbled
at my utter lack of eloquence
that no matter how hard I try
to recreate this imagery
with my limited vocabulary
yet words- they fail me
and I’m unable to describe Your phenomenon
in all of its essence,
nor illustrate the spectacular way
Your sun exits the day
gracefully descending
as if in slow motion
its intensity diminishing
into a thin fine thread till there is none
and darkness engulfs

how pallid and deficient is my language
and how feeble my attempt
that I could write lines after lines after lines
to capture the grandeur of Your design
Yet my prose
they fall short
they’re not even close
to the magnificence
of Your creation

not even by a fraction

Glory be to You
Lord of the East and the West
You command ‘Be’ and it is
and I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship
but You alone
Creator of the Universe
the Last and the First

Pisang Muda Bersalut Santan

Beberapa hari yang lepas, ketika di pasar tani saya ternampak banyak pisang muda dijual di gerai-gerai sayur. Saya pun beli seikat. Pisang muda enak sekali kalau dibuat masak lemak dengan ikan kurau masin. Walaubagaimanapun pada kali ini saya cuba satu resipi baru saya iaitu pisang muda bersalut santan.

Tak sangka pula suami dan anak kata masakan ini sedap, apatah lagi bila digandingkan dengan sambal cili dan ikan goreng. :D

Bahan-bahan:

1) 8 biji pisang emas muda.
2) 1 cawan air
3) 10 biji cili padi
4) 1/2 tsp serbuk kasar lada hitam
5) 1/2 tsp serbuk ikan bilis
6) 1/4 cawan santan kotak jenama kara
7) 2 biji buah keras ditumbuk hancur

Cara:

1) Pisang dicuci bersih. Kulit tidak perlu disiat. Dibelah empat memanjang
2) Panaskan 1 cawan air dan rebus pisang sehingga pisang masak dan baki air tinggal sedikit
3) Kemudian masukkan bahan 3~7, kacau perlahan sehingga rata. Bila santan dah masak bolehlah padam api.
4) Kalau suka pedas, cili padi perlu dihiris kecil
